This year’s Health Science Librarians of Illinois (HSLI) Annual Conference will take place online from Wednesday, September 7, to Friday, September 9. Watch for registration to open within the next few weeks. In the meantime, please check the Conference website for the schedule.
One of the continuing-education sessions at this year’s meeting is “Institutional Repositories – The Joys and Challenges with Q&A”. This panel discussion will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 PM CDT on Thursday, September 8. While the focus of the session is on institutional repositories in the health sciences, anyone working with institutional repositories or having an interest in the subject matter should find the program worthwhile. The panel–consisting of moderator Ramune Kubilius (Northwestern University) and panelists Jennifer Deal (Advocate Aurora Health), Sandra De Groote (University of Illinois Chicago), Mingyan Li (University of Illinois Chicago), and Amanda Avery (Parkland College)–will share their knowledge and experience relating to the platforms Figshare, Digital Commons, and Omeka in college, university, health care, and professional organizations.
For a complete overview of the session, including biographies of the moderator and panelists, please check the Conference website. Note that this session does not carry any CE credit from the Medical Library Association.
“I liked the size of it. It never felt overwhelming, but had some of the same speakers you can get at MLA.”–attendee at 2021 HSLI Annual Conference
