(on behalf of the HSLI Conference Planning Committee’s Publicity Subcommittee)
Are you considering a career in health sciences or medical librarianship? Interested in learning more about the latest trends in the profession? Looking for an opportunity to meet and network with new and experienced library practitioners, while helping the Health Science Librarians of Illinois (HSLI) organization celebrate its 40th birthday? HSLI would like to extend a warm invitation to students, including those at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s iSchool, to attend the 2019 HSLI Conference! This year’s event, themed “Going Forward, Looking Back”, will take place from Wednesday, September 11, to Friday, September 13, at the iHotel and Conference Center in Champaign.
Some of the benefits you will gain from attending include the following:
- registration at the student rate ($100 for the full Conference, only half of what regular HSLI members pay and less than half of what non-members pay)
- an opportunity to learn from experts in the field, including UIUC’s very own Lisa Janicke Hinchliffe (keynote speaker) and Daniel Tracy and JJ Pionke (continuing-education sessions)
- plenty of chances to make valuable professional connections, including at Nancy’s Reception the evening of Thursday, September 12
Please register by Wednesday, September 4, to reserve your spot at the Conference. More information about the Conference is available here.
We hope to see you there in a few weeks!
