Are you planning to attend ALA Midwinter and have a special interest in makerspaces? Does your library already have a makerspace area, or is it considering creating one? Need to know the latest gizmos that libraries can include in a makerspace? Be sure to register for the “Makerspaces: Inspiration and Action” tour, sponsored by the Library Information and Technology Association. The exhibit will consist of 40,000 square feet of various displays, featuring everything from printing presses to lightsabers. There will also be a large number of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) devices.
The event will last all day on Friday, January 8. For more information, and to register, go here. You can also view photos of some of the exhibits.
