The Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries of Illinois (CARLI) is pleased to announce the availability of a second round of applications for the creation of Open Educational Resources (OER) as part of the Illinois SCOER (Support for Creation of Open Educational Resources) program. This project has been fully funded by an additional $1 million supplemental grant to the University of Illinois System/CARLI, from the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education, or FIPSE, in the U.S. Department of Education.
While the primary focus for the Illinois SCOERs sub-grants remains courses related to “The Human Condition: Care, Development, and Lifespan”, we have expanded the focus to include any subject area for large enrollment courses with high textbook costs.
CARLI will award a minimum of eight grants as part of Illinois SCOERs. Each applicant team may request up to $60,000.
CARLI recommends that interested parties fill out the Illinois SCOERs Intent to Apply form by Friday, September 30. For detailed information and to access the application materials, view the Illinois SCOERs Notice of Funding Opportunity.
CARLI will host informational Zoom workshops to discuss the grant and to walk future applicants through the application process. These workshops will be held on the following dates.
Tuesday, September 6, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM CDT–register here
Thursday, September 15, from 1:30 to 3:00 PM CDT–register here
Wednesday, September 28, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM CDT–register here
Attending a workshop is not required. Each workshop will cover the same information, interested people need only attend one session.
For those that are interested in collaborating but need help finding like-minded team members, CARLI will host two MeetGreetCollaborate sessions, on the following dates.
Monday, September 19, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM CDT–register here
Monday, September 26, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM CDT–register here
If you have questions related to the Illinois SCOERs sub-grants or application process feel free to drop by our weekly Office Hour, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM CDT on Thursdays.
