The IACRL Nominations Committee is seeking candidates for the 2022-2023 Executive Board election. In April of 2022, members will vote for the IACRL Vice-President/President-Elect and Secretary. Vice-President/President-Elect is a three-year commitment (one year as Vice-President/President-Elect, one year as President, and one year as Past President), beginning in July of 2022 and ending in June of 2025. Secretary is a one-year position, beginning in July of 2022 and ending in June of 2023.
The nomination process begins with an open call for nominations for these positions. All IACRL members are invited to nominate a colleague or self-nominate. Submission of a nominee suggestion form does not guarantee the nominee will appear on the slate. The Nominating Committee will review all nominations and may also seek additional individuals to meet identified needs, in order to develop the strongest possible slate. According to the IACRL Bylaws and the ILA Bylaws, nominees selected to appear on the slate “must be members of ILA at the time of nomination”; that is, by the time the slate is finalized.
The Nominating Committee is seeking candidates who have the strategic skill sets to govern a professional, nonprofit association. Duties and expectations of Executive Board members can be found in the IACRL Bylaws. For the 2022 election, skills especially needed include a big-picture focus and a global outlook; the ability to act as a change agent; a commitment to participate and serve actively for three years; and the ability to implement ILA’s Strategic Plan.
The submission deadline is now 5:00 PM on Friday, March 11. To submit a nomination, please complete the online nomination form. Please direct any questions to Sue Franzen, IACRL Past-President and Chair of the Nominating Committee, at srfranz@ilstu.edu.
