Please consider participating in a research study being conducted by Lisa Hopkins, Bridgit McCafferty, Andria Schwegler, and Rebecca Hopkins titled “Organizational Culture and Work Modality in Academic Libraries,” reviewed and approved by the Texas A&M University-Central Texas Institutional Review Board. We will be publishing our findings in an ACRL publication about Innovative Library Workplaces.
All academic library workers are invited to participate in this survey. We ask you to share this call for participants widely among academic library staff and colleagues. We will be studying the characteristics of the library workplace, including work modality, types of communication used, relationships with your supervisor and co-workers, and satisfaction with your job. The purpose of this study is to examine qualities of academic libraries that may contribute to creating effective work contexts. The goal of the research is to examine organizational culture, including perceptions of remote work and working relationships. This survey should take about 15-20 minutes to complete. We hope to aggregate information across different library contexts to examine which features are related to more effective workplaces. This information could be used to improve how libraries function in the future.
