The Mortenson Center for International Library Programs and the American Library Association invite you to the Project Welcome: Libraries Serving Refugees and Asylum Seekers Summit on Monday, February 17, in Chicago. At the meeting, we will learn from, and with, U.S. and international librarians, international and national governmental agencies, and domestic resettlement and social services. Attendees will discuss the information needs of refugees and asylum seekers, in addition to the library services needed to support and empower them in their resettlement and integration process. The information will be used to identify priorities and gaps, develop recommendations, and formulate an action plan for library services to refugees and asylum seekers.
For more background on the Summit itself and Project Welcome, which is a one-year IMLS-funded planning grant (May, 201 6 – April, 2017), go here. You are also invited to participate by presenting a poster. Please read the call for posters below.
