The GMR is requesting that we find someone willing to serve on the Emergency Preparedness Working Group. You can find out more online, GMR Preparedness and Response<https://nnlm.gov/gmr/guides/preparedness>. The time commitment is minimal. They meet online quarterly and optionally at Midwest MLA. Time would be for the remainder of the grant: May 2018-April 2021. Jacqueline Leskovec is the lead for the group.
One of the great benefits is being able to take free courses towards MLA Disaster Information Specialization and have the certificate paid for by the GMR. Group members are requested to post to their health sciences and/or state library listserv to announce funding opportunities, the availability of a took-kit, and free training.
