Employees in ALA’s Office for Diversity, Literacy, and Outreach Services are hosting a gathering of Chicago area LIS/Archives and Info Workers committed to upholding the professional ethics of diversity, inclusion, information preservation and access, equitable representation, individual privacy, and support of marginalized communities. The gathering will be from 4:00-6:30pm on Tuesday, Dec. 20. The sponsors are inspired by the CA and NY groups that have organized after the election, and they welcome hearing from IL individuals and organizers to support existing local groups and learn from one another.
The private room at the restaurant around the corner from ALA has been reserved. Please join the discussion on the Facebook event page (https://www.facebook.com/events/238369276575769/) to talk about what questions that attendees might want to discuss.
The meet-up will be from 4:00-6:30pm CT at Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap, 41 E. Superior, Chicago, IL 60611 (www.jakemelnicks.com) to RSVP, and to contribute to the discussion, please see the Facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/238369276575769/.
