Are research skills and information literacy a part of your general education curriculum? Do you want to know if your students are proficient in their skills in finding, evaluating, and citing sources? Then you might be interested in the HEDS Research Practices Survey.
The HEDS Research Practices Survey assesses the extent to which college students can apply their information literacy skills to the practice of scholarly research. It asks students about their research experiences and assesses their skills in finding, evaluating, and citing sources. Over 80 colleges and universities have used the HEDS Research Practices Survey since 2008.
Registration for spring administrations of the survey is now open. Details can be found at https://www.hedsconsortium.org/heds-research-practices-survey/. All colleges and universities can use the survey. You do not have to be a member of HEDS.
