(via Debra Smith and Stacey Knight-Davis, webinar presenters)
The Health Sciences Librarians of Illinois (HSLI) invites you to attend a one-hour virtual discussion, entitled “LibGuides: Show, Tell, Collaborate”. Learn to apply design concepts and tech tricks led by a LibGuides “power user” and a systems librarian. These two experienced health sciences librarians will share experiences creating engaging, targeted LibGuides for a wide range of audiences. Basic scripting projects will also be presented. Presenters will:
- Demonstrate practical examples of LibGuides used in synchronous and asynchronous instruction;
- Boost student engagement by incorporating Bitmojis, videos, and embedded search tools;
- Save time and increase efficiency by strategically maintaining reusable content; and
- Harness the features of LIbGuides to consolidate documents and streamline presentations for accreditation visits
*This session includes live LibGuide demonstrations, and supportive materials enabling librarians to enhance communication with and education of health care practitioners, faculty, students, and consumers. The presenters have agreed to extend the webinar for a half hour beyond the end time if participants wish to continue the conversation (all webinar main content will be delivered in the first hour).
Date and time: Thursday, April 4, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM CDT [optional 30 minutes available for discussion until 4:30 PM]
Registration is not required to attend, nor is membership in HSLI. This session will not be recorded to ensure a robust and open discussion.
