HSLI member Michelle Nielsen Ott of Bradley University is the 2022 recipient of ILA’s Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year Award. Her involvement in HSLI includes serving as a member of the Conference Planning Committee, and she is also an active member of the newly-formed Journal Club. Among her other accomplishments, she served as an Illinois Association of College & Research Libraries officer from 2015 to 2016 and 2018 to 2021, including as President for 2019-2020. She was a member of the Illinois Library Association’s Advocacy Committee from 2017 to 2020. At the national level, she is currently a Research Training Institute Fellow for the Medical Library Association. This is hardly the first recognition she has earned, as she is a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi and a recipient of the Golden Gem Award from the American Association for Women in Community Colleges.
