The following National Library of Medicine traveling exhibits will be hosted by Illinois academic libraries at some point in 2016. (The list does not include libraries that hosted an exhibit from late 2015 to the beginning of 2016.) The purpose of the exhibits is to educate not just students, but members of the general public, about the history of medicine, including present-day issues. The hope is that young people will become more interested in history and that college students will be inspired to pursue careers in the health sciences, museums and archives, and related areas.
