Peggy Carey works in Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery/Circulation Assistance at National University of Health Sciences. She earned an LTA certification from College of DuPage in 1995 and an MLIS degree from Wayne State University in 2017.
How did you first learn about HSLI and become a member? What were your expectations when you joined?
As an LTA staff member and as an MLIS student volunteer at the Annual Conference, I gained the opportunity to learn more about HSLI.
What is the most significant change you have observed in HSLI during your time as a member?
With increased participation, there is increased collegiality!
What is the most worthwhile or memorable experience you have had as an HSLI member?
It was attending that first Conference as a student volunteer.
How has your involvement in HSLI affected you, professionally and personally?
It has affected me positively–knowing librarians throughout the state (mostly virtually) adds encouragement to stay the course of librarianship!
What is one aspect of HSLI that you believe makes it truly unique as a library organization?
That would be the professionalism and camaraderie of membership.
