When you have a chance, please take a look at the 2014 action agenda proposed by the Illinois Library Association.

These cover general issues and goals, rather than specific legislation. Also, note that there are currently no initiatives tailored specifically to hospital and medical libraries. (This point came up at the ILA conference back in October.) Given that staffing at hospital libraries, in particular, has been hit hard by funding cuts, the lack of a particular focus on preserving funding for those types of libraries should be of significant concern.
That is why it is more imperative than ever to take advantage, if you can, of the upcoming advocacy events. There will not be an Illinois Library Day this year, but there will still be the individual legislative meet-ups. The link to the registration form is below.

Also, there will be a national legislative advocacy day, in Washington, D.C. If attending this might be a possibility, further information can be found at http://www.ila.org/ila-events/national-library-legislative-day.
Thank you very much.
