The Illinois State Library will be sponsoring the “Libraries and Autism: Why It Matters!” webinar, which will take place on Thursday, September 24, from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. The webinar will discuss the ways in which libraries can provide services and resources to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their loved ones. The focus will be on the “Targeting Autism” project, which the State Library is developing, via a grant from IMLS. Presenters Suzanne Schriar and Russell Bonanno will discuss the purpose and goals of the project and the benefits to libraries, in addition to a short history of autism, to put the project into perspective.
