Scott Thomson, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine & Science, Chicago. Mobile Information and Health Literacy Instruction Station. Technology Award funded during Option Year 2 (2013-14). They took a mobile laptop into the community to offer health literacy services in the community and at locations within the campus.
Don Pearson, Mount Carmel Health System, Columbus OH. Education On-Demand; Using Technology to Extend Online Health Information Education Services Beyond the Library. They used Google Chromebooks and a WiFi Hotspot to provide health literacy at outside events as well as at Consumer Libraries located at their various facilities.
Arlis Dittmer, Blessing Hospital, Quincy IL. Past, Present, & Future of Blessing Health System Visually Presented. Hospital Library Award funded during Option Year 3 (2014-15). The new hospital lobby holds a permanent wall features celebrating the community and the health system. Arlis’s project was featured on Illinois Stories on PBS; see it here. The History wall is featured about three minutes into the video. Overall, 14,000 photos were scanned. In the video of the Grand Opening Video, you can also see some of the wall in the background.
