Registration is now open for the 2022 ILA Annual Conference! We will convene for our first in-person annual conference since 2019 on Tuesday, October 18, through Thursday, October 20, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
Join us and your colleagues in the Illinois library community to network, meet and reunite with your favorite vendors in the exhibit hall, and attend sessions featuring high-quality topics and content you’ve come to expect from ILA conferences.
This year’s theme–“At the Heart of It”–focuses on what brings us together and how we can remove barriers to collaboration. Conference highlights of interest to academic and research librarians include the following.
IACRL Unconference–Wednesday, October 19, 8:00-10:00 AM CDT
Join your academic colleagues for breakfast and community! Returning to an in-person format for the first time since 2019, IACRL’s annual unconference provides a space for academic library workers to network, share ideas, and discuss topics important to our everyday work. Participants will suggest and vote on topics and table discussions will follow, with ideas shared at the conclusion. Spend the morning with your colleagues to problem-solve and share stories, and leave with innovative ideas. Academic library staff from all departments, classifications, and levels of experience are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Technical Services Ignite!–Thursday, October 20, 3:00-4:00 PM CDT
Technical Services librarians from a variety of Illinois libraries present 5 minute Ignite!-style presentations about topics of their choosing. This fast-paced, fun program will cover topics related to technical services operations, from acquisitions to cataloging, and everything in between.
The early-bird registration deadline is Monday, September 26. Please see the Conference website for additional information, including the full schedule, hotel information, COVID-19 safety requirements, and Conference registration rates. Direct any questions to ila@ila.org.
