Join the ALA NMRT (New Members Round Table) Online Programs for our first program, “Disability Justice in Libraries”. This webinar will be presented by Jessica Schomberg on Thursday, November 18, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM CDT.
Taking a disability-justice approach means we have made a choice; we can’t hide behind the idea of neutrality. But what is disability justice? Who is affected by it and what does it mean for library services and collections?
Jessica Schomberg is a former cataloger and current reference/instruction librarian at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Their most recent publication on the topic of being a librarian with disabilities is the co-written book Beyond Accommodation: Creating an Inclusive Workplace for Disabled Library Workers.
