- Options regarding the use of punctuation when newly authenticating bibliographic records will be discussed. Fully punctuate any field when descriptive cataloging form is recorded as “ISBD punctuation included,” Desc i. February 18, 2021: “The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Weird: A Short Guide to Cataloging Oddly Bound Books”

- How to catalog braille books, specific MARC fields that should be included in a bibliographic record, and how to code the fixed-field elements will be covered. Register here.
April 15, 2021: “Mixing It Up: Mixed Materials”
- While kits contain multiple items issued as one unit intended for instruction, collections of mixed materials contain two or more forms that are most often related by being about or accumulated by a body or person. MARC fields and RDA guidelines for mixed materials will be discussed. Register here.
May 20, 2021: “Cheerios, Rice Krispies, or The Directory of Overseas Summer Jobs?”
- Discusses what a serial is, the differences in cataloging a single item vs. cataloging serials, and demonstrates the fixed-field differences and variable fields that apply to serial records. Register here.
