The IACRL Conference & Continuing Education Committee and CARLI are pleased to partner for Spark: Open Pathways – Exploring the Intersections of Diversity Equity and Inclusion and Open Educational Resources. The event will take place via Zoom on Friday, April 1, starting at 10:00 AM CDT.
DEI and OER are important topics that we believe librarians want to engage with, and with that in mind we are again shifting the structure of Spark. The IACRL Conference and Continuing Education committee is partnering with CARLI to present the Open Illinois Hub, a new OER tool for Illinois higher education institutions. We are excited to highlight this tool that will help to bring OER to more institutions in Illinois.
After this presentation, we will have unconference-style breakout rooms for attendees to engage in conversations about DEI, OER, and where they intersect. We hope this offers attendees an opportunity to ask questions, make connections with other librarians, gain valuable insight, and discover where our barriers exist with these topics. With information from the report outs, we intend to create future programming to help fill any gaps identified.
The event will be held via Zoom. Library workers from all libraries in Illinois are welcome to attend!
