Registration is open for the Cataloging Maintenance Center’s next Online with the CMC webinar. Titled “O Brother, Part 2: What to Do With the 024, 028, & 588 Fields for Videocassettes and Kits”, it will take place on Thursday, December 8, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM CDT.

We’re back with part 2 of talking about the 024, 028, and 588 fields, this time focusing on videocassettes and kits. What in the world is this “other standard identifier” (MARC 024)? How do you code publisher numbers (MARC 028)? And how can the source description help patrons (MARC 588)? Eric McKinney explains.

Please register in L2 here. Direct any questions to Dr. Pamela Thomas, Bibliographic Grant Manager at Illinois Heartland Library System’s Cataloging Maintenance Center, at pthomas@illinoisheartland.org. Also, make certain to check here for additional upcoming training opportunities.
