We are excited to announce that registration for the 2018-2019 HEDS Research Practices Survey is now open: https://hedsconsortium.wufoo.com/forms/20182019-heds-research-practices-survey/.
The HEDS Research Practices Survey assesses students’ research experiences and their skills in finding, evaluating, and citing sources. Faculty and librarians can use student- and course-level data from this survey to develop pedagogies and materials to advance students’ research skills.
You can administer the survey at the beginning of the fall term to identify incoming first-year students’ research skills and knowledge. You can also use a follow-up administration of the survey to track your students’ growth from the beginning to the end of a course or the first college year. In the spring, we also offer comparison results for institutions surveying their senior students.
You can learn more about the survey and these administration options, as well as download a copy of the instrument at: https://www.hedsconsortium.org/heds-research-practices-survey/?utm_source=IACRL_listserv&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=RPS_Fall18
We also recommend sharing this information with other people on your campus who might be interested in the survey, such as instruction librarians or those responsible for first-year programs.
Please feel free to contact me (ahernandez@hedsconsortium.org) with any questions about the survey,
