This is a reminder that nominations are due Tuesday, October 1. Please see below for more information. I have not received any nomination submissions so far.
Know a Health Science Librarians of Illinois member who has made a lasting difference in the organization? Consider nominating the person for the 2024 Starfish Thrower Award!
First presented in 2000, the Starfish Thrower Award is based on the story of the child who “makes a difference” by throwing stranded starfish back into the ocean, one at a time. Thus, the Award recognizes the efforts and contributions of an individual HSLI member toward the good of the organization.
To nominate an HSLI colleague, or to nominate yourself, please complete the nomination form, available here, and e-mail it to HSLI President Eric Edwards, at eedwards@ilsos.gov or president@hsli.org, no later than Tuesday, October 1. He will announce the winner at the HSLI Business Meeting, which will take place during the virtual Annual Conference and is currently scheduled for 12:45-1:15 PM CDT on Thursday, October 24.
For more information on the Award, please go here. See lists of past recipients and overviews of their accomplishments here and here. Please direct any questions to Eric Edwards.
