With January upon us, there are somehow only days left to submit a proposal for the ACRL Rare Books & Manuscripts Section 2023 Conference! It’s looking like an exciting batch so far, and the entire committee is looking forward to welcoming you all to Indiana University’s Bloomington campus, and also virtually, from Tuesday, June 27, to Friday, June 30.
Submit your proposals here. The deadline is Friday, January 20.
As you finish up your proposals, here are a few reminders.
- You can and are encouraged to submit individual papers and partial panels! Committee members will help match you with other participants.
- Scholarships are available! The deadline to apply for these is also Friday, January 20.
- Proposals will be evaluated using a rubric. The broad selection criteria are listed on the CFP, or in this spreadsheet in full.
- Proposals do not have to be on the Conference theme; though we encourage folks to think about how their ideas for proposals might relate to the broad theme of how we educate ourselves, provide opportunities for others, and how we discuss our work outside of our institutions.
Please feel free to reach out with questions, comments, and concerns to elizabethdebold@gmail.com and elott@email.unc.edu. We’ll be happy to answer, or to bring your thoughts to the committee. Looking forward to reading your proposals, and to seeing as many of you as possible in six months in Bloomington, Indiana, at the wonderful, newly-renovated Lilly Library.
