Introducing First Friday Forums: As fun as medical librarianship gets!
Starting Friday, December 3, at 11:00 AM CDT, the Health Sciences Interest Group with ACRL will be launching a new program to help health sciences librarians stay excited about our work. Help us get these get these forums going by showing up caffeinated and ready to share! Each one-hour forum will be hosted via Zoom with a different theme and varying forum formats.
We will begin with presentations, guided discussions, speakers, article presentations, and other learning materials on the theme. The material in the first half are to inspire us for sharing engaging conversation in the second half. The idea is to get us commiserating, sharing, and maybe even laughing a bit about the wonderful world of health librarianship.
These events will not be recorded so we can relax a bit on a Friday, share freely, and maybe learn something from each other. We all miss the interesting side conversations and sharing that happens at conferences. Perhaps we can recapture a little of it during our First Friday Forums.
Stay tuned for our announcement of the themes! Please reach out to Anna Ferri, at aferri@roseman.edu, if you have a theme idea or if you want to present on a tool, experience, article, “lesson learned”, etc. related to an upcoming topic. We’re excited to involve our HSIG members in these events!
In addition to the December 3 meeting, First Friday Forums will also take place on the following dates (all beginning at 11:00 AM CDT).
- February 4
- April 1
- June 3
