Andrea Twiss-Brooks (MS, MSLS), who is Co-Director of the Science Libraries Division and the Head of Collection Services at the University of Chicago’s John Crerar Library, has been chosen as a mentor for the 2016 class of NLM/AAHSL Leadership Fellows. Twiss-Brooks is one of 10 participants in this year’s program (five fellows and five mentors), and she is the only one from Illinois. She will mentor Rick L. Fought, who is an associate professor and Head of Electronic and Collection Services at the University of Tennessee’s Health Sciences Center’s library.
The Leadership Fellows Program, which is sponsored jointly by the National Library of Medicine and the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries, is designed to identify academic librarians in the health sciences who have demonstrated strong leadership potential, including an interest in becoming a library director. The program, which began in 2002, has seen 27 of its graduates gain director positions. Congratulations, Andrea!
