For our April Health Science Interest Group First Friday Forum, we will be looking ahead at where the impacts from COVID adaptations are taking us.
We have all experienced changes to our instruction, services, and resource use related to COVID. Let’s talk about it.
- How have our work spaces and work conditions changed? What changes are here to stay? Are virtual conferences here to stay? Is virtual reference in ascendency?
- How have the needs of our clinicians, students, faculty changed? How are librarians and libraries being perceived now? Is everything going digital? Do we still need hardcopy books?
- What new ideas and directions have been opened up to us? What new challenges are we seeing on the horizon (or are already here!)? What have we learned as librarians? Where are we going next?
So. Many. Questions.
Please come share your stories and hear from colleagues at the Health Science Interest Group’s third First Friday Forum on April 1 at 11:00 AM CDT. No registration or membership is required–Zoom information is at the bottom of this message.
In keeping with the dynamic, ever-changing format, the April First Friday Forum will use break-out rooms to talk through some of these questions. Each breakout room will have a topic or theme. We will allow time for attendees to chat in multiple rooms and then discuss our takeaways as a group. Attendees will be able to self-select which breakout room they participate in and enter and leave them at will. For those of you with a Zoom desktop client, make sure it is updated!
Help us define topics for the break-out rooms by identifying what is most relevant to you about these issues. What areas or aspects of these questions interest you most? Reference services? Instruction? Resource use? Library advocacy? Working conditions? Please take a minute before the session to contribute to an idea board. Instructions are on the idea board.
