The ACRL Student Learning & Information Literacy Committee has two events open to all ALA Annual attendees:
SLILC Discussion Forum: Where Do We Stand? The Accreditation Process and the Library
Saturday, June 23, 10:30-11:30 AM
Morial Convention Center, Rm 218-219
Accreditation is an issue that affects all librarians at all higher education institutions, whether or not the librarian is a direct participant in their institution’s accreditation process. This discussion forum will address the issue of accreditation from a variety of different perspectives. Following a brief presentation on the instances of information literacy in the different accreditation bodies, participants will engage in a variety of group activities on the topic of accreditation and the library’s participation or lack of it. Attendees of this workshop could have no, little, or extensive experience with accreditation.
