ALA Seeking Input on Economics and Event Participation

Posted on February 28, 2016 by Eric Edwards

The American Library Association’s Task Force on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is seeking feedback on participation in ALA events, particularly regarding the impact that economic circumstances have on the decision to attend, or not to attend, a gathering. The survey is part of a larger effort by the ALA to ensure that the organization is as inclusive as possible. This goal is especially relevant, in light of the continuing impact that racial and socio-economic issues have on the library and information science profession.

The survey will be available through Friday, March 18. One is not required to be a member of ALA in order to complete the survey. For more information on the project, including the link for accessing the survey, click here. The survey should take no more than seven minutes to finish.
