The Sewell Travel Award for Public Health (STAPH) Committee invites applications for 2024 Sewell Stipends to attend the American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting. It will take place in Minneapolis, MN, from Sunday, October 27, to Wednesday, October 30. The theme this year is “Building Trust in Public Health and Science”. The award will cover the cost of APHA membership and early-bird conference registration. In addition, all librarians receive $300 to help offset the cost associated with travel, meetings with your mentor, childcare, etc.
The eligibility requirements are below.
- Be a librarian or information specialist with an MLS/MLIS or equivalent degree;
- Work with or have accepted a librarian/information specialist position that now includes, or will include in the near future, working with public health practitioners or PH/PH-related students, staff, and faculty; and
- Be a United States citizen or have permanent resident status (i.e., a holder of a green card)
