The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is accepting applications for the 2025 cohort of the Intensive Learning Program (ILP). The ILP is an eight-month hybrid experience that explores operational aspects of senior leader portfolios in research libraries and archives as well as responsibilities related to managing those portfolios. The ILP strengthens strategic thinking and decision-making skills to ensure effective leadership of research libraries in a time of rapid, continuous change.
The ARL Intensive Learning Program (ILP) is an eight-month hybrid experience that explores operational aspects of senior-leader portfolios in research libraries and archives as well as responsibilities related to managing those portfolios. The ILP strengthens strategic thinking and decision-making skills to ensure effective leadership of research libraries in a time of rapid, continuous change. Participants will experience opportunities to enhance leadership qualities–including integrity, compassion, and collegiality–as they develop their leadership skills.
As an ARL fellowship, the ILP is implemented with the following considerations (unless noted otherwise):
- All virtual, synchronous content is scheduled between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM CDT; all in-person, synchronous content is scheduled based on the local time zone.
- All content is presented in English.
- All content is designed from and for Canadian and US perspectives.
- Attendance at in-person program components is expected.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, November 13, 2024. For more details, including the slides and recording from an informational session, and to register, please go here.
