We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Illinois Cataloging Mentorship Program (iCAMP), a year-long initiative designed to foster both professional and personal development among participants.
Program Overview
iCAMP operates on a comprehensive year-long framework, structured to facilitate growth and learning through mentorship. Over twelve months, participants will engage in monthly meetings orchestrated by the iCAMP Mentorship Committee. These gatherings serve as focal points for mentors and mentees to connect, discuss goals, expectations, and attend professional development and recreational events together.
Participant Journey
Throughout the program, mentees will embark on a journey of personal and professional growth, guided by experienced mentors who provide insights and support. Mentors, in turn, gain valuable perspectives through teaching and mentoring. The program emphasizes the advancement of cataloging skills, networking opportunities, and the establishment of lasting professional relationships.
Application Process:
- Mentors: Those with at least five years of cataloging experience are invited to apply as mentors. Share your expertise and guide the next generation of catalogers. Please submit your interest application by Friday, August 2, 2024.
- Mentees: Library science students, early-career professionals, and library staff interested in advancing their cataloging skills are encouraged to apply as mentees. Please submit your interest application. The deadline for submissions is Friday, August 2, 2024.Â
