The ILA Awards Committee is accepting nominations for this year’s ILA Awards. The ILA Awards Program (see link for more information on each award) celebrates outstanding contributions to librarianship and library services in Illinois. If you have an outstanding staff member at your library, whether they are a colleague, director, or manager, consider submitting a nomination for them to be recognized with an award.
Awards include the Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year Award. Established in 1985, this award recognizes an Illinois librarian who is making an outstanding statewide contribution to academic or research librarianship and to library development. The recipient must be working as a librarian in an Illinois academic or research library; must be a personal ILA member or be employed at an institution that is an ILA member; and must have distinguished themself in notable service to the IACRL forum and to the Illinois Library Association, as well as exhibited leadership and exemplary library service in an academic or research setting. Additional information on the Illinois Academic Librarian of the Year Award is available here.
Nominations for all awards must be submitted by Wednesday, May 15. Please direct any questions to Tamara Jenkins, at tjenkins@ila.org.
