Would you like to work with a dedicated team of colleagues representing all types and sizes of libraries to help shape the future of a member-driven, vibrant, and innovative library system? RAILS invites nominations to fill the following positions on our board:
- Three openings for people currently serving on the library board of trustees of a RAILS public library
- One academic library seat (to be filled by a faculty/staff member from a RAILS academic library)
- One school library seat (to be filled by a staff member from a RAILS school library)
- One special library seat (to be filled by a staff member from a RAILS specialized library)
The term for the special library seat begins on July 1, 2023, and ends on June 30, 2025. Terms for all other positions begin on July 1, 2023, and end on June 30, 2026.
We are looking for candidates that reflect the diversity of the RAILS membership in terms of race, ethnicity, age, geographic location, staff position, and other factors. We ask board members to attend and actively participate in 11 board meetings per year, either in person or at a RAILS service center or videoconference location.
