We are a collaborative unit composed of a science librarian and a science faculty member that would like to work with other collaborative units to form a panel for ACRL 2019. Our focus is on high-yield opportunities in embedded librarianship while addressing sustainable practices. We have worked with students in Biology junior-senior level elective courses, ranging from reproductive biology to advanced anatomy to biopharmacology, for several years at a small liberal arts college.
The embedded experiences have run the gamut from face-to-face to fully online and include innovative activities like Tweeting to book authors, writing to government officials for policy change, and creating unique products based on content driven research.
We would welcome collaborative librarian-faculty partnership units, from any setting and discipline, that are interested in forming a panel that will be frank and honest about the realities of embedded librarianship.
