Did you spend time writing this summer and now have a draft you’d like someone to look at? The Library Writing Cooperative‘s First Draft Matchmaker program is looking for authors who want feedback on their work!
As an author, you’ll receive supportive and nonjudgmental feedback on your first draft, generally within 2-3 weeks. Sign up here to have your work reviewed. We encourage participation from those new to writing for the library and information science profession and those who have previously authored works. No prior publication experience is necessary. (Not ready to submit a draft yet? Fill out the form now, and we’ll reach out again later.)
Reviewers can give your op-ed, essay, article, case study, research papers, or conference proposals a thoughtful read and offer suggestions. Please note that our reviewers cannot review lengthy manuscripts (such as entire books) or materials outside the library field.
If you have any questions, please stop by our website (see link above) or contact us at libwrtcoop@gmail.com, and please add libwrtcoop@gmail.com to your contacts so you don’t miss any of our messages.
Hi, I did a 15 minute presentation at the MLA in May 2024 and would like to turn it into an article. I’ve published one previous article on which I was the lead author, so I have some limited experience. The presentation was based on research that I did solo (for a Master’s thesis) so I do not have a co-writer. What I do have is a thesis that I hope can be translated into an article without too much angst. I think the first thing I need is a deadline for a rough draft!
Thanks for organizing this, it’s a great idea –
Jennifer
