My name is Kelee Pacion, and I am a student at the University of Southern California. I also hold a role as a librarian at Princeton University.
I am conducting a research study on the lived experiences of women in academic librarianship as they seek promotion and advancement. The name of this research study is “Implicit Bias, Leadership, and Power Dynamics in the Academic Library”. I am seeking your participation in this study.
Your participation is completely voluntary, and I will address your questions or concerns at any point before or during the study.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you meet the following criteria.
- You work at a Research 1 library.
- You identify as female.
- Your title is in middle management (head of a unit or a branch).
- You supervise fewer than 15 direct or indirect reports.
- At least half of the participants will identify as being from a minority group.
- You are over 18 years old.
If you decide to participate in this study, you will be asked to do the following activities.
- Participants identified will be asked to participate in a one-on-one Zoom interview that will take between 60 and 75 minutes.
- Participants will be asked to review the interview transcript via e-mail for 15 minutes.
I will publish the results in my dissertation. Participants will not be identified in the results. I will take reasonable measures to protect the security of all your personal information. All data will be de-identified prior to any publication or presentations. I may share your data, de-identified with other researchers in the future.
