We are looking for librarians or library professionals who are interested in acting as either a facilitator or participant in a virtual book group focused on Small Teaching: Everyday Lessons from the Science of Learning, by James Lang. For more information on the book itself, please check the author’s website. The book group will begin in the spring semester of 2025, likely in February, while facilitators will begin meeting during the autumn semester 2024 for planning purposes.
If you are interested, please complete this form by Saturday, August 10.
Please Note: If you are interested in acting as a facilitator, it is expected that you are already familiar with Small Teaching or are able to read the book prior to the facilitation planning meetings, which will take place this fall. During these planning meetings, facilitators will work together to finalize a set of slides that each facilitator will then be expected to use during the book group meetings. In the spring of 2025, each facilitator will be expected to lead a group of perhaps 15-20 participants in 4 book group meetings.
If you have questions about becoming a facilitator, contact Kayla Kuni (kunik@phsc.edu).
