The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Library and Informatics Center is conducting a scoping review of academic health sciences libraries’ outreach and engagement with Indigenous communities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico. We know that libraries conducting this type of work may not always publish their work in journals or even present at conferences, but we don’t want to miss any of the great work that you and your colleagues do!
Does your library conduct outreach or engage with Indigenous communities? Or do you know anyone who does? We are seeking any sources which describe engagement and outreach involving academic health sciences libraries and Indigenous communities, whether they are blog posts, web sites, or just tips on whom to contact. This will supplement a thorough review of journal literature, MLA conference proceedings, and more. You can read our full protocol online here.
Your input, advice, feedback, and any questions you have would be welcome and appreciated. Please contact Allison Cruise, at acruise@salud.unm.edu, if you have any information you would like to share.
