Dear academic librarians,
My name is Sanja Gidakovic, and I am a PhD student in the Information Science and Learning Technologies program at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
I am conducting an exploratory study focused on understanding the role of librarian support in teaching open science practices in the curriculum. The purpose of the research study is to get a deeper understanding of the pedagogical trends of librarian support in open science / scholarship and reproducible research in higher education. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to share your experience related to these topics by answering survey questions. Possible benefits include a better understanding of how teaching open science research practices is embedded in the curriculum and opportunities for librarian and faculty collaboration.
If you are working at an institution that has embedded open science into teaching as a core component or if you collaborate with faculty to curate material, co-teach, or create other support related to open science research practices, you are invited to participate in this survey. If you know someone who may be interested, please feel free to share this information with them. The survey is anticipated to take no more than 10-15 minutes of your time.
Inclusion criteria for this study are that you:
- are 18 years of age or older
- work as a librarian in higher education in the United States or Canada
- provide instruction, research assistance, consultation services to students and faculty
I have obtained Institutional Research Board (IRB) approval for this study, and participation is entirely voluntary. Participants may withdraw from the study at any point.
Access the survey here.
