I am conducting research on cognitive overload in academic librarians (or library staff) who participate in library and campus outreach, including DEI initiatives. The work of outreach librarians is varied and different tasks can require different mental efforts. This research aims to investigate the challenges outreach librarians face and assess our mental workload.
- Who can participate? Anyone who either coordinates, leads or participates in library outreach activities. These activities could include new student orientations, fun events in the library, OER/textbook affordability initiatives, DEI efforts, and more.
- How long will the survey take? 15-30 minutes depending on your experience.
- When will the survey close? End of day on Friday, February 26, 2024.
- How can I participate? Complete the survey Cognitive Overload in Library Outreach
- What will you do with the results? This research will be published in a forthcoming book publication about cognitive load in libraries.
Please feel free to share and encourage participation in this survey.
