We would like you to consider taking our survey that focuses on early career librarianship and burnout. You are being asked to complete this research study by Jessica Rardin, University of Wyoming Libraries, and Maddi Brenner, University of Iowa Libraries. Our research study focuses on hiring and onboarding early career librarians into new roles at the department, library, and institutional level. Our goal is to understand how “position fit” and “position support” contribute to feelings of burnout.
This study is for anyone over the age of 18 who has worked in an academic library, full-time, from 0-5 years and holds a master’s degree from an ALA-accredited library school or equivalent degree.
If you decide to participate, we anticipate the survey taking 15-20 minutes to complete. It consists of 21 questions in three sections. The first section asks questions about your job search and current position. The second set of questions asks about your feelings in your current role. The third section is related to the Copenhagen Burnout Inventory (CBI) which measures personal burnout, work-related burnout, and client-related burnout. The informed consent and survey are available Qualtrics and do not ask for any personally-identifiable information.
The survey will be available for 8 weeks (2 months) until Wednesday, March 6. If you have questions, please contact Co-Principal Investigator Jessica Rardin (jessica.rardin@uwyo.edu).
Thank you for considering,
