I am reaching out to invite you to participate in a brief, anonymous survey on health sciences library employees’ understandings of disability.
Link to survey: Health Sciences Library Employees’ Understandings of Disability
The purpose of this research is to investigate how health sciences librarians and library staff perceive their understanding of disability. Completion of the survey is encouraged for all library staff and librarians of health sciences libraries in the United States over the age of 18, including those who identify as a person with a disability and those who do not. This research project is being completed as part of the Medical Library Association Research Training Institute, and the data will be analyzed and discussed to determine trends in the field around disability understanding.
The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete. Participation in this survey is voluntary, and you may decide to discontinue the survey at any time. By completing this survey, you consent to participate in this study. The responses you provide will be kept confidential and no identifiable information will be collected from survey participants. There are no identified risks or personal benefits in completing the survey, however the knowledge gained from this research project may help health sciences libraries conceptualize internal understandings of disability.
This survey will close on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
This survey has met the criteria for University of California, Irvine Institutional Review Board self-exemption. If you have questions about this survey, including any feedback on its accessibility, please contact Becca Gates, rmgates@uci.edu.
