(via Dr. Lisa Hussey, Simmons University)
I am asking for participation in my research on Professional Development activities. Professional development is an important part of librarianship. There is an expectation that library staff will engage in continual learning and development of current and new skills. However, organizations do not always have the funds to support professional development or the ability to provide the time to pursue these activities. Individuals also face similar challenges. The study will consider both formal and informal professional development activities and the data will be used to create a benchmark identifying current practices.
The research is being conducted by Dr. Lisa Hussey (School of Library and Information Science) and has been reviewed by the IRB Board at Simmons University.
The survey will be open from Tuesday, November 21, 2023 until Monday, January 15, 2024. More information about confidentiality and consent can be found at the beginning of the survey.

Thank you for you participation.
