Recent developments in AI technology have brought new challenges and opportunities to the field of library instruction.
The ACRL Instruction Section (IS) Virtual Engagement Committee (VEC) is seeking 3-4 presenters for a lightning round about applied AI in library instruction. Have you begun using AI in the classroom or to develop lesson plans or assignments? Would you like to share about your innovations in using AI to enhance your information literacy instruction? Consider submitting a proposal to be a presenter.
Each of the 3-4 presenters will be allotted 10-12 minutes during the lightning round to share their experiences in using AI. We welcome the sharing of practical takeaways and ideas for application (such as teaching tools, learning objects, lesson plans, activities, etc.). The session will conclude with a 10-15 min Q&A with all the presenters.
We encourage speakers who represent a variety of perspectives through personal and/or professional experiences (e.g., a variety of institution types, experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, different amounts or types of career experience, representation from individuals with marginalized identities, etc.).
Proposals will be reviewed based on the following rubric.
Submission Deadline: Wednesday, January 17, at 1:59 AM CDT
To submit a proposal, please use the online submission form.
Applicants will be notified on or before Friday, February 16, 2024
