The nolaILC (New Orleans Information Literacy Collective) is seeking proposals for its annual conference, the New Orleans Information Literacy Forum. This year, the Forum will be held live virtually during the day from Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 2. (Sessions will also be recorded and subsequently made available to registered attendees.)
We’re seeking proposals from information literacy professionals and students working at public, school, academic, and special libraries to foster dialogue throughout the profession. Proposals may address any topic relevant to information literacy in a variety of institutional contexts.
Topics may address or focus on adaptability, but that is not a requirement. Other topics may include (but are by no means limited to):
- Instruction/instructional design
- News literacy/disinformation
- Information literacy and social justice
- Inclusivity (including accessibility)
- Technology and tools
- Curriculum planning
- Using primary sources
- Open educational resources
- The Framework/AASL Standards/other IL benchmarks
- Other literacies (financial, visual, technological, etc.)
- Online instruction
- Collaboration with other units/organizations
Proposals should be 200-300 words long and should specify a particular format for the session (e.g., workshop with tangible takeaway, round table, lightning talk, 30-minute presentation, etc.).
Submissions are due by Friday, May 3, at 11:59 PM CDT. To apply, please fill out and submit the proposal form for the conference. Those selected to present at the Forum will be notified by the end of May.
