The editors of Communications in Information Literacy, or CIL, are soliciting submissions for an upcoming theme issue on the connections between information literacy and open educational practices (including but not limited to open educational resources, open pedagogy, and open licensing). Submissions will be considered for the research articles, innovative practices, and perspectives sections of CIL (please see section descriptions and policies here) and should evidence clear and specific connections to student information literacy in the context of higher education. For example, a relevant manuscript might describe information literacy instruction that engaged students in exploring and understanding open educational resources, or openly licensing and sharing as open educational resources the individual or collective products of their assigned coursework.
In order to provide ample time for authors to imagine and develop their manuscripts, the submission deadline is Thursday, December 15. Although it is not required, authors are encouraged to submit a proposal of no more than 300 words describing their manuscript ideas, before the December deadline. Accepted papers will be published in the Spring issue of 2023 (vol. 17, no. 1). Please feel free to send proposals or any related queries to editors@comminfolit.org. A list of all CIL Editorial Team members is available here.
