The application deadline for several American Library Association-sponsored awards and grants has been extended to Friday, February 12. (The original deadlines fell in December or January and are still indicated as such on the application forms.) The list of affected grants and awards is below.
ALA Information Today Library of the Future Award: recognizes an individual library, group of libraries, or support organization for an innovative program training library patrons to use information technology
Equality Award: recognizes an individual or group for a significant accomplishment in fostering equality across the profession of librarianship
Gale Cengage Learning Financial Development Award: honors a library organization that has made a substantial effort to obtain new sources of funding for an academic or public library initiative
Lemony Snicket Prize for Noble Librarians Faced with Adversity: honors a librarian who has overcome a significant obstacle while maintaining integrity and dignity
