The planning committee for the 2016 LITA (Library Information Technology Association) Forum is seeking program proposals. This year’s event will take place from Thursday, November 17, to Sunday, November 20, at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas. Proposed programs may take the form of full-day preconference sessions or poster presentations, in addition to concurrent sessions that include panel presentations and moderated discussions. Topics related to services at any type of library–including academic, government, or special–are acceptable, and proposals may cover any technology-related projects or concepts that attendees might find interesting. Some suggested subjects for program proposals include library spaces (virtual or physical), emerging technologies, “Big Data”, and consortial resource-sharing. Those who are new to the profession, such as library school students and first-time presenters, and members of underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to submit proposals.
The deadline for submitting a session idea is Friday, April 29. Those chosen to present at the 2016 LITA Forum will be able to register at a reduced rate.
